Frequently asked questions
Getting started
Going off on your own to start a private practice?
You don't have to do it alone. Fledge is a business partner built specifically for SLPs, in your pocket from day one. The business setup is free; we only charge later, when we handle your billing for you.
Is this free?
Yes. The business setup is free. You only pay if you later choose a paid dashboard plan to run your practice.
How long does it take?
About three minutes to get started and another five or ten to capture your practice details. You can see your first private-pay patients while the paperwork is still in motion. Entity formation is usually same-day, EIN is instant, and insurance credentialing runs sixty to ninety days per payer.
Can I start small?
Absolutely. A lot of SLPs test the waters by seeing a few private-pay patients on the side before making a bigger move. All you need to get started is your CCC-SLP, a state license, and malpractice insurance. No LLC, no EIN, no business bank account required. You can add the rest as your practice grows and you figure out what works for you.
Privacy
Do you sell or share data with payers, ASHA, or anyone else?
No. We don’t sell or share your data with payers, ASHA, or anyone else. The Privacy page has the full details.
Pricing
If the setup is free, how does Fledge make money?
The practice dashboard at app.fledgepractice.com. Starter is free for up to five active patients. Practice is $27 per month for unlimited patients. Enterprise is for multi-provider practices. Talk to us. Card payments at Stripe’s standard rate, passed through at our cost, with no Fledge cut. Cash and check are free. The business setup stays free regardless of whether you ever use the dashboard. Full breakdown, including a head-to-head against SimplePractice and Jane, on the pricing page.
Can I keep using the business setup without ever paying for billing?
Yes. The business setup will stay free, indefinitely, with no feature gates. We'd rather you finish credentialing using us and walk away than feel cornered into a billing contract you didn't want.
